DOG BREED
This large, sturdy, and highly protective dog is typically friendly and easy to manage. Created in the 1940s, this robust and heavily built terrier was specifically designed by the Soviet Army in the former USSR. Breeders aimed to produce a large dog that could perform military tasks and endure the harsh cold of Russian winters. The development involved several breeds, including the Giant Schnauzer, Rottweiler, and Airedale Terrier. Although still relatively rare, the Russian Black Terrier is gradually gaining recognition beyond its country of origin. Impressive in both size and presence, this breed is not inherently aggressive and can be a friendly and well-adjusted family pet when properly handled.
