DOG BREED
This little dog has a lot of dignity and is prepared to be alert and protective. Although the breed was officially named in the late 1800s, dogs of this kind had been present in the Scottish Highlands long before that time. Strong and nimble despite their diminutive size, "Scotties" were developed as hunters of vermin, much like the West Highland White Terrier and the Cairn Terrier. Loving and observant, the Scottish Terrier makes an excellent companion for the home.
