CAT BREED
There are numerous accounts regarding the history of the Abyssinian cat, including the intriguing yet unlikely tale that it originated from the holy cats of ancient Egypt. A more credible explanation indicates that its forebears may have been brought to Britain by soldiers after the conclusion of the Abyssinian War in the late 1860s. What is undeniable is that the contemporary breed was created in Britain, likely through the interbreeding of the British Shorthair with a rarer, possibly imported breed. With its athletic physique, noble presence, and stunning ticked fur, the Abyssinian is a striking cat with a touch of wildness. Intelligent and loving, Abyssinians are excellent companions, but they thrive in an active environment.
