DOG BREED
Less large than the American Akita, the Japanese Akita Inu is thought to have descended from hunting dogs in northern Japan. Once viewed as a variant of the Akita, it was officially identified as a distinct breed in the 1990s. The Japanese Akita Inu tends to be territorial and protective, making it essential to train and socialize them from a young age.
