CAT BREED
This striking cat, with its unique variegated pattern, resembles a long-haired Siamese, though the two breeds likely share no close relation. According to a delightful tale, Birmans are said to come from sacred white cats that were cared for by priests in Myanmar (formerly Burma), with their coloration attributed to mysterious otherworldly forces. In reality, the breed was most likely established in France during the 1920s, although its original ancestors may have roots in Myanmar. Birmans are long-bodied and robust, featuring silky fur that remains untangled, unlike many other long-haired feline breeds.
