DOG BREED
Hairlessness is a characteristic of many dog breeds around the world. This condition is the result of a genetic mutation that was initially viewed as an oddity but later became sought after due to the breed's lack of fleas, minimal hair shedding, and absence of body odor. The Chinese Crested, which requires very little grooming, has sensitive skin that demands careful attention: it needs a coat for warmth in colder months and protection from the sun's intense heat during summer to avoid skin burns and dehydration. This sensitivity, along with the breed's limited exercise requirements, makes it less suitable for families that engage in outdoor activities frequently. However, it is an ideal companion for elderly individuals, given its friendly demeanor, sociable nature, and playful spirit. Among Chinese Crested dogs, there are variations in body structure; the lighter, more delicate dogs are known as the deer type, while those with a sturdier build are referred to as the cobby type.
