Norrbottenspets

Norrbottenspets

DOG BREED

DESCRIPTION

This cheerful, affectionate, long-lived breed is free of any doggie smell, also known as the the Nordic Spitz and the Pohjanpystykorva. This small, agile Spitz serves as the national dog of Sweden, although it remains relatively unknown beyond its home country. Its Scandinavian name, Norrbottenspets, translates to "Spitz of the Bothnia County." Historically, it was utilized for hunting squirrels and, more recently, for coursing activities. With bright eyes and a fluffy tail, the Nordic Spitz is easy to train as a pet but needs consistent, vigorous exercise.
